Mount Vernon, WA – March 25, 2014 – At their March board meeting, the Trustees of the Hospice of the Northwest Foundation voted unanimously to approve program grant requests from Hospice of the Northwest totaling $246,000. The Foundation is able to fund these grants to Hospice of the Northwest through the generous donations of individuals and businesses in Skagit, Island, San Juan and Snohomish Counties.
The 2014 Agency requests include funding to support uncompensated patient care, clinical education and training, complementary therapies like massage and music, bereavement outreach and volunteer services, and the purchase and maintenance of new equipment and technology. Every year Hospice of the northwest cares for more than 800 patients and the people who love them. Funding from the Foundation provides an extra measure of excellence to the care the agency provides.
“We are truly grateful for the financial support of this community as well as the dedication and experience of the Foundation Board. This type of direct funding helps us to continue to provide the type of compassionate and comprehensive care this community expects and deserves,” stated Jean Leib, Hospice of the Northwest Executive Director.
