OPPORTUNITY: We are recruiting a Hospitalist for Skagit Valley Medical Center and Skagit Valley Hospital.  The Skagit Valley Hospital and Skagit Valley Medical Center’s 24/7 Hospitalist program has been operational since November 1, 2005. Currently, the team is made up of seven Hospitalists and Director. Three physicians work during the day (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), each caring for his/her own group of patients. One Hospitalist covers all patients and new admissions during the night (5 p.m. to 7 a.m.).  During the day, the teams rotate as the admission Hospitalist. One covering from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the other from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. while the third Hospitalist accepts the post-midnight patients. Approximately 50 physicians, and three specialties subscribe to the Hospitalist program. In the future, the service will likely be to open to other IM and FP physicians as well as to other specialists. The Hospitalists are presently available for consultations as well as the management of critical care patients for any physician.
