Skagit Valley Hospital brings the resources of three internationally renowned cancer care institutions to enhance oncology services in our community through our affiliation with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA).
SCCA unites Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medicine and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center to offer a variety of treatment options, designed from the latest research for malignant and non-malignant diseases. For patients, the hospital’s affiliation with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance provides access to the latest research-based therapies here at Skagit Valley Hospital and continuity of care from diagnosis through discharge. Our physicians are able to partner with SCCA for clinical trials in the community setting and to refer patients to the experts.
This partnership continues Skagit Valley Hospital’s 30-year tradition of offering cancer care to the community. The hospital’s cancer clinic has held certification from the American College of Surgeons since 1975.
About Seattle Cancer Care Alliance:
The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, established in 1998, unites the adult and pediatric cancer-care services of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Academic Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center. A major focus of the SCCA is to speed the transfer of new diagnostic and treatment techniques from the research setting to the patient bedside while providing premier, patient-focused cancer care. Patients who come to the SCCA receive the latest research-based cancer therapies as well as cutting-edge treatments for a number of non-malignant diseases under development by its partner organizations. The SCCA has three clinical-care sites: an outpatient clinic on the Fred Hutchinson campus, a pediatric-inpatient unit at Children’s and an adult-inpatient unit at UW Medical Center.
