The pediatric and medical unit on the third floor of Skagit Valley Hospital is a family centered nursing unit providing age appropriate care for children one month old thru their teens. Parents play an important part in their child’s treatment. All pediatric patient rooms are private and have space for one parent to stay overnight at their child’s bedside. Each room has private bathroom and shower available for patients and their parents. Video games, laptop computers and other activities are available from the nursing staff to help make a child’s hospital stay more comfortable.
Known as pediatric hospitalists, these Seattle Children’s physicians work in Skagit Valley Hospital, caring for young patients throughout the hospital, from newborns to older children.
Pediatric hospitalists care for hospitalized patients and work with the child’s regular pediatrician and other physicians involved in the child’s care to provide updates during the hospital stay and an overview when the child is discharged from the hospital.
