Candace Wittenberg, Director of Rehabilitation, Skagit Valley Hospital, Mount Vernon, WACandace Wittenberg - Director of Rehabilitation, PT, MBA, DPT
Candace began as the Director of Rehabilitation for Skagit Regional Health in 2010. She has worked in rehab for over twenty-five years and has a broad knowledge of the industry, having worked in 3 countries and 3 states. As the Director, Candace’s philosophy is to take care of  the business side and manage the department so the therapists can focus on patient care. She is a believer in empowering, educating and engaging our patients to take charge of their health and live their best lives.

 

Physical Therapy

Kerrie began her career here with Skagit Regional Health in 1990. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 1990. Kerrie has over 20 years experience in outpatient physical therapy and specializes in vestibular rehabilitation, women's health (urinary incontinence and pelvic floor pain), lymphedema therapy and rehab for cancer patients. Kerrie also serves as the Lead Physical Therapist for both outpatient and inpatient Physical Therapy and is the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education for Physical Therapy as well as being a Certified Clinical Instructor. She is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Anne joined our outpatient physical therapy team in 2005. She graduated from University of New Mexico with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 1981. Anne brings over 20 years experience in outpatient physical therapy and specialize in manual therapy. Annie has also done advanced training in SCENAR, which is a biofeedback tool that stimulates the nervous system to aid in the healing process. 



Lindsay Kizinkewich, Physical Therapist DPT, Rehabilitation Services, Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WALindsay Kizinkewich - Physical Therapist, DPT
Lindsay joined our outpatient physical therapy team in July of 2010. She earned her undergraduate degree from Kansas State University with Bachelors of Science and went on to receive Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 from Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska. Lindsay has a strong focus and experience with sports medicine, orthopedic diagnosis such as post-surgical and overuse injuries, and neurologic impairments. She is also a member of the orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Kerry joined the rehabilitation team at Skagit Regional Health in 1999. He graduated in 1998 from Whatcom Community College with an Associate in Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He has been a valuable member of the rehab team serving in a wide variety of setting throughout the years. With his experience he has become a Certified Clinical Instructor helping train the next generation of therapists. Kerry as well is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.



Nick Corp, Physical Therapy Assistant, Rehabilitation Services, Skagit Valley Hospital, Mount Vernon, WANick Corp - Physical Therapy Assistant
Nick began his career here with Skagit Regional Health in January of 2010. He graduated in 2009 from Whatcom Community College with an Associate in Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Nick’s experience is with neurologic impairments and orthopedic patients with a focus on joint replacements. He currently serves as the Patient Educator for our Total Joint Replacement class. Nick is also a member of the neurologic section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

 
 

Speech Pathology

Christie Weeda, Speech Pathologist, MA, CCC, SLP, Rehabilitation Services at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WAChristie Weeda - Speech Pathologist, MA CCC/SLP
Christie joined the rehabilitation team at Skagit Regional Health in 1994. She completed her undergraduate and graduate work at Western Washington University and holds a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She has nearly 20 years experience treating adults in Virginia, Seattle, Bellingham and Mount Vernon. Christie has advanced training and experience with voice, swallowing and head and neck cancer.  She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and belongs to the special interest group for voice disorders.
 


Shawn Sweeney, Speech Pathologist, MA, CCC, SLP, Rehabilitation Services at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WAShawn Sweeney - Speech Pathologist, MA CCC/SLP
Shawn has worked at Skagit Regional Health since 1997, working both in acute care and in the outpatient clinic.  She received her BA and MA degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Washington University. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and belongs to the special interest group of Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders.  Shawn has advanced training and experience with cognitive rehabilitation related to traumatic brain injuries and communication therapy for stroke patients.
 
 

Occupational Therapy

Neil Plume, Occupational Therapist, OTR, L CHT, Rehabilitation Services at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WANeil Plume - Occupational Therapist, OTR/L, CHT
Neil joined the rehabilitation team as an occupational therapist at Skagit Regional Health in 2012. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1997. He is a certified hand therapist, which is an extensive multi-year professional certification process, to help ensure the highest quality of therapeutic intervention for upper extremity disorders. Neil is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
 

 

Unit Coordinator


Julie Stoddard, Unit Coordinator, Rehabilitation Services at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, WAJulie Stoddard - Unit Coordinator
Julie has been working in the Adult Rehabilitation department since 2010 and been with Skagit Regional Health since 2009. As our Unit Coordinator she handles all scheduling, insurance authorizations and billing. Julie enjoys having the unique position of getting to watch the patient progress and is fascinated by how all the therapy disciplines work together to help the patient achieve their rehab goals.
