Patrick M. Lyons, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with Skagit Northwest Orthopedics in Mount Vernon. His focus includes sports medicine and arthroscopy.
Dr. Lyons chose his emphasis in sports medicine due to his own interest in active pursuits. He was an avid rugby player for 20 years and a member of the National Military Championship Team. His involvement in the Navy began at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. His medical experience in the Navy includes Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director for Surgical Services at the Naval Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Washington and Head of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Knee Team at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. He also served a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
After traveling around with the Navy, Dr. Lyons and his family are pleased to have settled in the Skagit Valley. He has passed on his interest in athletics to his two children who are both very active in sports.
Dr. Lyons is a fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, past president of the Skagit and Island Counties Medical Society and a member of the American Medical Association, the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
