is an outpatient monitored exercise program that starts one to three weeks after a patient leaves the hospital. Using a state-of-the-art telemetry system, patients’ heart rates and rhythms are monitored during exercise. Vital signs are taken before and after exercise. Progress is tracked and notes can be sent to the patient’s provider for follow-up visits. During this phase, patients will also learn about nutrition, medications, how the heart works, stress and tips for exercising at home. Most insurance covers three classes per week for six to eight weeks.
is a maintenance program designed for patients who have completed Phase 2 and are ready to continue to incorporate exercise into their routine. This portion of the program is also called Heart Healthy Fitness which is open to the community and can be utilized by individuals who want to work on improving strength, balance and cardiovascular fitness. Our Heart Healthy Fitness Program focuses on individual goals and offers plenty of one-to-one attention. We work on strength training, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. This program offers much more than a traditional gym membership, with medically trained staff on-site and the ability to track participants’ vital signs before, during and after exercising.
Participants typically attend classes two or three times per week. Many participants remain in the program because of the personal attention from staff and relationships built with other class members. Classes are available Monday – Friday.
